WENT OFF FOR BOOZE
AND NEVER RETURNED
Editor Banner:
Some lime ago 1 noticed a sugges-
in your columns that the people
ttliens have a special service at
of the central churches the last
night of the year, conducted by the
prohibitionists and others to see the
Old Ye.tr out and tbe New Year in,
ring the bell. etc.
1 want to second the motion aud
help to work the town up for a grand
rally on that night. A good program
could lie rendere I or extemporaneous
speeches made, with prayers and
much good could be done. Of course,
a company of po ole watching until
{midnight would be largely young peo
ple. lint none tbe worse by that, as
v are the people who should be
most interested now.
The Christian church is open for
such a meeting, but if some other
is more convenient we would gladly
go there. Let us start the movement
goo! and strong, and have a rousing
meeting.
