The University Dramatic Club
The Thalians, has recently decided to
return to the old custom of having
parts in the plays which are present

year, taken by young ladies of the
city-
A year or so ago the club decided
to try the custom of some of the
northern university dramatic clubs,
and have the feminine parts in the
college plays, taken by members of
the club. This was done last year and
was quite a success, the young men
v/lio played the feminine roles receiv
ing favorable notices, hut the club has
agitated the question again this sea
son and reversed it.
Tuesday night at the chapel, the
club decided to have the feminine
parts in the comedy. David Garrick,
which the club is working on. to he
played by young ladies of the city as
formerly, and Misses Lydia Hutchins.
Lucy Fleming and Julia Brand havp
consented to take the roles in the per
formance.
The Thalians are rehearsing steadi
ly under Miss Lyndon’s direction, and
the play will he ready for presenta
tion shortly after the close of the
Lenten season. The Thalians always
put on a catchy performance and the
theater-going public will hear with
pleasure that they are to produc
such a good play as David Garrick.
