THE BANNER, SATURDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 4, 1911,
GOLDSBORO
HEARD FROM
A Lady Who Lives in Goldsboro
Joins in the Chorus of Praise
for Cardui, The Woman’s
Tonic.
Goldsboro, N. C.—"A physician treat
ed me tor many distressing symptoms,”
writes Mrs. Etta A. Smith, “but gave
me no relief.
“I suffered with neuralgia around the
heart and was troubled at times with my
head. I had pain in my left side, bowels,
left thigh, shoulders and arms.
“After taking Cardui, 1 am now well
•nd can recommend it to oilier suffering
women.”
Just such doubtful symptoms, as those
from which Mrs. Smith suffered, are the
ones for which it will pay you to take
Cardui, the woman’s tonic.
It is at such times, when there is noth
ing to show, for certain, the real cause of
the trouble, that you need a tonic, to give
(he body strength to throw olt the illness
that evidently threatens.
Take Cardui, when you are ill, with
the ailments of your sex. Take Cardui
is a tonic, to prevent illness, when you
feel it coming.
Your druggist keeps it.

ITYBEE HOTEL IS
ALMOST FINISHED
Committee Inspects It. New Edifice
Declared to be a Credit to
Savannah.
That all Savannahians may feel
justly proud of the new Tybee hotel
is the tinanmioiis verdict of the build
ing committee which went to the is
land yesterday to Inspect the work.
The hotel is practically complete,
but lias not yet been accepted from
the contractor.- The committee found
all of the work complete, except n
(few finishing touches without and
within, and a few other minor details.
Other leaders have been well known a " of whlch can casllv be done lons
for years, but Creatore conquered in , b ‘‘[°. re ' he summer season opens,
night, and is now drawing throngs
every conrerl. When lie appear
ed on the stage for his first concert,
his personality attracted attenilon at ,hc appearance of the new hotel
once. From the lime he rapped with
his baton on the music stand and bc-
lantfested a disposition to

and—most Important of all—does not

a result of the public agitation which
has been going on for some time the
’itv Federation of Women's Clubs
made special provision for an exhi
bition of safety hatpin devices at its
annual convention held today at the
Motel Astor. Several ingenious in
ventions were shown, ranging from
Ips of various kinds to he placed on
he ordinary hatpins to complicated
devices resembling wire cages. All
ere examined with critical interest
v the club women present. And
judging from their romtnents the
present style of hatpins of a foot
or more in length is not likely lo be
abolished very soon.
Chairman .Mills B. l-ane of the

the hand. When the selection was
completed with a crash of music that |
almost shook the roof, there were
shrieks and cries of bravo! which
showed that he had thrilled his au
dience. Since that first night Crea
tore has heroine a craze. Every night
the place is crowded. The audience
marvels at the music, and wonders at
the remarkable gestures of the man
who is so completely wrapped up in
his art and his labor that he never
notices that an audience is lisiening
to or watching him.
Boston Transcript—No conductor
who has yet appeared in Symphony
Hall has ever secured such sounds of
thunder, such amazing variations of
rythm, ns has Mr. Creatore. He Is

Is stated he did New York. He Is
not only the most picturesque of con
ductors that ever was seen here, but
he Is besides a masterly leader of
men. who has his musicians under
perfect control, insomuch that every
thing is played with wonderful effec
tiveness, with force, sympathy and
nice discrimination. It leans to
climaxes of the most abrupt, fearful
sort. After you get used to them you
learn to anticipate them with a sort
of Joyousness, ft would be hard to

HOTEL TYBEE IS TO BE REAY
FOR SPRING OPENING
Furniture Contract to be Let in the
Next Few Days. The Dining
Room is now Complete.
From the Savannah Press.
Hotel Tvhee is rapidly approaching
completion, the finishing touches
now being put upon it. Those who
have seen it express keen surprise
and pleasure at the appearance of the
structure, which is. according to
those who know, the finest summer
resort hotel in the south. The stuc
coed walls, the projecting eaves and
ted tiled roof make the building de
cidedly attractive from the exterior,
and those who recall the picture of
the structure printed In the Savannah
Press ai the letting of the contract
will have no difficulty in recognizing
the building as it has been made a
mailer of reality instead of a "pic
ture" hotel.
An Ornamental Front.
While no extensive plan of orna-
meniatioii for the building has been
worked out. there is just enough of
the ornamental on the front of the
hi tel facing tile railroad lo make the
buiiding attractive. This ornamenta
tion is done in solid cement, it being
cast from molds into various artistic
designs and figures
.1. M. Alien of T S. Moudy &

for some days looking after the work
and assisting his superintendent. Mr.
Haines, in hurrying it to com
pletion.
Yesterday afternoon a representa
tive of the Savannah Press was shown
over tlie hotel hv Mr. Allen. The
wings are practically complete, there
being little to do now except to-stain
some doors, put in a few bath tubs
and wash stands, and. by tlie way.
every room has a stationary wash
stand, and there are something like
three dozen private baths and a half
dozen for public use.
The top story of the main part or
center of the building is complete
and work on the lower floors is being
rushed. The dining room is com
plete. as is the kitchen with the ex
ception of the roof. The kitchen is
very large and is built adjoining and
midway to the dining room, in order
that waiters may not lose too much
time in haring to walk the entire
length of the dining room.
Pergola is Ready.
The ornamental pergola, which
faces the sea side of the hotel, has
been completed, as has the Qlazza on
the ocean side of the building. Soon
Hie matter of laying walks and erect
ing a refreshment booth will engage
tlie attention of the hotel company.
The ornamentation and the general
beautification of the grounds has
been arranged for. it is understood
that a large sum is to be expended in
tills manner, which will make the
place unusually attractive.
A number of furniture men are
here for the purpose of figuring on
the needs of the hotel in that line
and it is expected that the contract
for it will be let within a few days.
The hotel should be ready for opening
early in the spring.
