New York, July 26.—Many people
knelt before the shrine of “Good
Saint Anne” in the little church ot
St. Jean Baptiste in Fast Seventy
sixth street ttglay, and kissed the
reliquary containing one of the bones
from the wrist of tile Mother of Vir
gin. It was the close of the annual
nt-vena of Ste. Anne, the period due
ing which the faithful look for many
miracles to be performed. For nine
days the little church has listened to
the prayers of hundreds of sick and
disabled persons who sought relief
from their afflictions through the in
tercession of the Saint.
WANTS DIVIDENDS PAID.
Pittsburg. Pa., July 26.—Stockhold
ers of the Westinghouse Electric and
Manufacturing Company assembled
in Pittsburg today to take part in
what promised to be the most im
portant annual meeting since George
Westinghouse was ousted from the
presidency of the groat corporation
several years ago. Dissatisfaction
with the present management Is be
lieved to have reached the point call
ing for decisive action. For months
the stockholders have been clamoring
for some return on their Investment,
bnt those in control have continued
In pass the dividend, notwithstanding
that a dividend has been earned and
the company's surplus has been
steadily accumulating. Should the
plans of the dissatisfied stockholders
end successfully It is probable that
Mr. Westinghouse. who has been the
ruling genius of the company since
Inception, will he restored to his ol fl
position as the head of the corpora
tion.

THE COMMON HOUSEFLY
This insect is the justly deserving
object of a national campaign in the inter
est of the public health. Flies carry
filth and disease germs wherever they go.
We are glad that we are able to co-operate
effectively in the fight against this step.
FLIES AND ELECTRIC FANS DO NOT AGREE
Flies cannot alight in a breezs and
it is a simple thing to keep your kitchen,
your living room and the sleeping room of
your child free from the contamination of
these insects. One electric fan in a small
household can usually be made to serve all
three purposes, besides freshening and
cooling the air. Fans at moderate prices
are sold by all the electric dealers at
Athens. Money invested in one is money
well spent.
Very truly yours,
