Georgia was not using a whitewash
ed ball down in Sanford Bottom yes-
terday afternoon, but Coach Cunning
ham worked his man until after the
stars came out and it was too dark
to follow the ball. A scrimmage that
lasted for forty minutes gave the
team both defensive and aggressive
work and when time was called* in
this work the backfield ran, signals
for twenty minutes.
That Saturday's game is the one
important game of the season to win
now is realized both by the coaches
and the players and no pains are he
ing spared to whip the eleven in
shape for the fray. It looks as If the
team is going to remain intact with
the present lineup no matter whether
it wins or loses. Logan though^ is
sure to get back at end as soon as he

As to who the officials will be has
not- been announced neither has the
tine-up of the opposing team bemt re
ceived, but Mississippi is reported In
good shape and anxious to avengo
herself on some eastern team for the
defeats that Auburn has been handing
her for the past several, years. Geor
gia is primed to a cocked finish for
this battle and aside from the won
derful Auburn game of 1912, it prom
ises to be the finest exhibition of the
pigskin game ever played on an Ath
ens He’d. Both teams have been de
feated this season twice. Georgia has
lost to North Carolina and Virginia,
while the Mlssisslppians' went down
before Auburn and Kentucky Skate.
Georgia’s opponents were possibly
stronger than the A. and M.’s, while
the latter made a better showing than
did Georgia. The score in the K. S.
game was 19 to 13, in favor of the
Colonels, while. Auburn beat, them in
the last , quarter, 19 to 0.
According to this the teams are
about equal on paper, with a possible
advantage in favor of the visitors, but
this should be overcome by the shade
that will veer to the Red and Black
in playing on their home grounds.
The game is sure to be a corker and
Athens is expected to turn out a re
cord-breaking crowd.

No reason for the suicide is ad
