New York, Dec. 21.—The cotton
market Was comparatively quiet early
today and fluctuations were irregu
lar. The opening was steaay at a
decline of ± point to an advance of
u points with near months relatively
steady in sympathy with cables. Liv
erpool was a buyer here and there
was scattered covering, hut after sell
ing at 11.97 on the call, January soon
eased off to li.ta, or 2 points net low-
I er under scattered liquidation, while
