MOTOR—Four cylinder, valve in head.
CYLINDERS—Cast en bloc, with upper half of crank case. Head detachable.
OILING SYSTEM—Splash with positive plunger pump, individual oil pockets.
CARBURETOR—Zenith Improved double jet.
IGNITION—SIMMS’ high tension magneto. Where electricity equipped, Con
necticut Automatic Ignition is used.
CLUTCH—Cone.
TRANSMISSION—Selective type, sliding gear three speeds forward and
reverse.
COOLING—Thermo-syphon system, cellular radiator of extra large size with
large overhanging tank carrying head of water over vales at all
times.
REAR AXLE—Three-quarter, floating, wheel bearing is carried on the wheel-
hub and in axle housing. The load is carried on axle housing, and
not on axle shaft.
FRONT AXLE—Drop forged I-beam, with integral yokes of special Steel,
double heat-treated; tie rod ends, steering spindles and arms of
Chrome Vanadium steel, heat-treated. Wheels fitted with cup and
cone ball bearings.

The Chevrolet is the masterpiece of an eighty million dollar corporation

the tremendous future for the medium priced automobile they built their
car on the highest type of practical engineering, used the finest materials pro
curable and with a combined! manufacturing knowledge, merchandising abil
ity, experience and financial ability have not only maintained this high stan
dard but have made every improvement that the automobile industry has
evolved.
They have located in Atlanta an assembling plant and this will insure
prompt delivery in cars for this section in the future.

MOTOR—Four-cylinder, four-cycle, valve-in-head type, 3 11-16-in. bore by 4-in.
stroke.
CYLINDERS—Cast en bloc with upper half of crank, case. Head detachable.
VALVES—1 1-2-inch—mechanism in closed.
CONNECTING RODS—Steel forging; bearings 2 1-8-in. by 1 1-2-in. die cast,
bronze backed, babbitt lined.
CRANK SHAFT BEARINGS—Front 2 3-4-in. by 1 1-2-in.; center, bronze
backed, 2-in. by 31-32-in.; rear, 3 1-8-infl by 2-in.
CAM SHAFT—Steel forging, cams are made integral; three plain bearings;
front, 2 9-16-in. by 1 5-16-In.; center, 2-in, by 1 9-32-in.; rear. 1 7-8in.
by 1 1-4.in. Driven by helical gear bolted to flange on cam shaft.
LUBRICATION—Self-contained, constant level, splash system, with distrib
uting pipe inclosed within crank case, oil circulated by gear pump.-
Individual oil pocket for each connecting rod dipper. Sight feed and
dash.
CARBURETOR—Improved double jet, Zenith. Pressure feed by automatic
pump on H-4 Baby Grand Touring and H-2 1-2 Royal Mail, torpedb
body. Gravity feed direct from tank on H-2 Royal Mall.
IGNITION—Auto-Life generator, with Connecticut automatic ignition.
COOLING—Thermo-Syphon system radiator of large capacity with excess
circulation, in conjunction with belt-driven fan and ventilated hood.
CLUTCH—Large, leather faced, pressed steel cone; expanders under leather
to prevent harsh action.
TRANSMISSION—Sliding gear, selective type, three speeds forward and re
verse. Running on annular ball bearings.
DRIVE—Shaft, two universal joints, the forward telescope, each inclosed in
housing and running in oil bath.
FRONT AXLE—Drop forged, 1-beam with integral yokes, tie rod ends and
steering spindles. Wheels fitted with cup and cone ball bearings.
REAR AXLE—Seml-floating type, heat-treated axle shafts, running on Hyatt
roller bearings. Gear ratio 4 to 1.
BRAKES—Emergency, internal expanding; service, external contracting; di
rect on rear wheels, 12-In. by 1 3-4 in. drums.
WHEELS—Wood, artillery type, fitted with demountable rims, large hub
flanges.
TIRES—32-in. by 3 1-2-1%, Goodyear; Non-skid on rear. Plain on front.
8TEERING GEAR—Worn* and worm gear, adjustable, with ball bearirg;
17-in. steering wheel with inserted spider. Left drive.
CONTROL—Lever for gear changes, conveniently located in center of body.
Center control. Friction retained spark and throttle levers on top of
steering wheel. Independent foot accelerator and muffler cutout.
The left pedal for clutch and service brake; right pedal for emergency
brake.

FRAME—Pressed steel, channel section, extra strong.
SPRINGS—High quality spring steel, double heat-treated; front semi-elliptic,
36 inches long, 1 3-4 inches wide; rear, 3-4 elliptic, 48 inches long,
1 3-4 inches wide.

ELECTRIC STARTING AND LIGHTING SYSTEM—Electric Auto-Lite start-
ing motor with Bendix automatic screw pinion drive and lighting
system with generator and L. B. A. storage battery.

pending); 15-inch steering wheel.
SPRINGS—Front, quadruple, lateral, quarter elliptic shock absorbing. Made
of Chrome Vanadium steel (patent pending). Rear, long, cantilever
type.
BODY—Five-passenger touring type, stream-line with deep cowl and dash.
Extra wide tfoors with concealed hinges.
FINISH—Black.
WHEELBASE—One hundred and two inches.
EQUIPMENT—Mohair tailored top, top cover and side curtains, windshield,
electric horn, complete tool equipment, including pump and jack;
complete lamp equipment. Prest-o-lite tank. Where, electrically
equipped the single wire lighting system is used.
