Buenos Aires, Argentine, Dec. 16.—
(Correspondence of the Associated
Press).—The 1917 wool crop Is now
nearly an shorn and while not quite
so large aa that of last year is, how
ever, regarded here as highly satisfac
tory, quality and price. The largest
buyers on the wool market today ere
the officials representing the Entente
Allies who are purchasing large quo
tes destined to the armies. American
buyers are now familiar figures on
the market end do a business second
only to the French and English rep
resentatives. i
The German firms are not buyers to
any great etxent, but they are always
on the spot and generally open to do
business in smell lots at low prices.
These German firms must, lpdeed, bold
an enromous stock of wool in their
warehouses; they were large buyers
in 1914 and 1916 and middling last
year.
