SEVENTY-NINTH ANNUAL MATING

The seventy-ninth annual meeting
of the Georgia Historical Society
will be held in Savannah on February
12th, which is the anniversary of the
founding of the colony of Georgia by
General Oglethorpe in 1733. This
honorable and worthy society was
organized in 1839 to collect, preserve
and disseminate the history of Geor
gia, and for more than three-quarters
of a century it has in a most unselfish
and patriotic spirit collected and pre
served in its archives much valuable
materia], and has published many
volumes of historic records. It is a
state-wide institution, and its mem
bership comprises many of the moot
prominent men and women In the
state.
The following public spirited citi
zens ft Athens are members of this

Hodgson, H. M. Holden, E. K. Lump
kin, J. H. T. McPherson, R. E. Park,

Poles Arrest Com
mander and Staff
Amsterdam, Feb. 6.—A wireless
dispatch received at Berlin from
Kiev says the Poles have occupied
Mobilev, Russian main headquarters,
and arrested Ensign Krilenko. com
mander in chief of Russian Bolshevik
forces and his entire staff. The mes
sage adds that a Bolshevik uprising
at Kiev has been suppressed by
Ukranlans.

Conspiracy To De
stroy Food Ships

Now York, Feb. 5.—Franz Rlntel-
en, German agent, and ten co-defen
dants, all Germans, were found guilty
by a federal Jury of conspiracy to
destroy munition and food ships of
the Entente Allies.
