WILLIAM S. HART STRAND
THEATRE SPECIAL MONDAY
In his newest Artcraft picture,
‘ Wolves of the Rail,” which will be
shown at the Strand special Monday
only, William S. Hart, the Thomai"
H. Ince star, is introduced In a, uew,
role—that of an upholder of law and
order, rather than an outlaw, al
though the early scenes of the drama
depict Hart as the leader of a daring
end notorious gang of bandits, who
so terrify the officials of a western
railroad that a famous eastern detec
tive, known as "The Bloodhound,” is
sent to break them up.
How Hart, as “Buck" Andrade,
n.eits this detective; how this refor
mation is brought about at the bed
side of his dying mother, and how
he does the work that "The 'Blood
hound” came west to accomplish
forms the basis of as thrilling and
interesting a photoplay as Hart ever
made. Indeed, Thomas H. Ince, who
p'otlnc^tl "Wolves of the Rail," ven
ti.ree the opinion that this Hart of
fering is the best in which this fam
ous character has appeared since be
coming an Artcraft star.
In the role of "Buck" Andrade,
Hart fipds his reformation made
easier by the companionship and
devotion of Faith Lawson, a young
girl who has succeeded to her dead
lather’s job as •'towerman” at . tl
Smoky Gap mountain station
fact. Faith and Buck are the central
figures in a pretty romance. \
adds considerable interest to
virile story.
"Wolves of the Rail” is a thrille
There is no let-up in the action
scene following scone in rapid
quence. Of course Hart is prom

REDEMPTION” WITH EVELYN
NESBIT AND SON RUSSELL
THAW, ELITE THEATRE
SPECIAL WEDNESDAY
The following are a few press
stories on "Redemption," which is
hown at the Klite special Wednes
day of this week:
“Evelyn Nesbit Scores,
Evelyn Nesbit and her fire year
old son. Hussell Thaw, in the magnify
cent picture production, "Redemp
tion,” is proving the hit of the sea
son at the George M. Cohan Theatre. 1
4:ird Street and Broadway, New
York. Hundreds have been turned
.away, and the prospects are that the
film will remain there all season, in
stead of two weeks, as originally In
tended.
The picture, which is acclaimed by
critics and film experts as one Of the
finest of the season, show? the mar
velous and unexpected ability of
Miss Nesbit as a picture player.
Without previous experience, she
wins all the honors in the production.
What she has suffered, and the ract
that she is asked to live again actual
scenes in her life, aid her in her
work, and enable her to show a
depth of feeling, and a strength of
emotion, which no artificial means
could arouse.
Mr. Stcger lias given the millions
o? screen patrons a masterpiece.—
New York Star.
The central and most - enigmatic
character in the most sensational
newspaper story this country has
ever known, Evelyn Nesbit has at
last come to the scroen with her son,
Russell Thaw. It Is a remarkable
drama, drawing much of Its inspira
tion from the events in her own life,
yet in no way capitalizing cheaply
tho notoriety of the murder case.
Critics of the film praise it not be
cause Evelyn Nesbit is featured, but
becauso Evelyn Nesbit has proven
herself an actress of remarkable
depth and incisive technique, and be
cause the play in which she so au
spiciously makes her screen debut is
big and convincing and mercilessly
true.—Exhibitors Trade Review.
The prices will be adults l(ic Wed
nesday with no children admitted ore
this day only. It is well to come-
early to enjoy a good seat at the -
Klite Wednesday. ,
