The Woman's Missionary society of the
First Methodist church meets Monday as*
ternoon at 4 o'clock. Special attention ts
called to tbs Bible study class under Miss
Mary A. Bacon, the women of the church
hare an unusual privilege in this. The
literary program will be under the di
rection of Circle 12 formerly the young
peoples. It is hoped every member will
be present.

ued very close to capacity and tales
are holding up oteadlly. There have
been further advances ln some print
cloth numbers. Lines of Southern
dress ginghams have been opened,
an din some Instances have been
sold up and withdrawn for fall de
livery'- Romper cloths and southern
chambrays have also sold In a large
way.
Further late buslneaa has been
placed on some sheetings for con
verting purposes. Jobbers are selling
domestic and wash fabrics. In the
latter Instance, novelties In design
and coloring being notable lender*.
Retailers continue to purchase good*
steadily but are not Inclined to pay
advances for any late deliveries ex
cept on sueclaltles or noveltlen in
the fabric lines. Competition Is
sharp enough In finished lines to
preclude wide profit on anything of
a staple character In either first or
second hands. A moderate amount
of export business In cottons Is re
ported a* paying with South Ameri
ca, the Philippines. Mexico and some
of the orth American islands, but
