Liverpool was relatively easy and the opening here was a decline of 9 to 15 points under scattered realizing and souliem soiling. Trade interests were moderate buyers and brokers with Jrn-n ese connections bought May deliv eries. July was sold agamst the May purchases, however, and the general list soon showed net loss es of 9 to 16 points with March selling at 29.48 and July at 28.68 during the early trading. Private cables said Liverpool was lower under realizing and reports of a poor trade in Manchester but that prices were steadied by covering at the decline. The market was rather easier parties • during the early afternon under continued realizing or selling for n reaction which was probably encouraged by reports of an easier tone in the stock market. May cased off to 29.56 and October 28 50 or J to 8 points net lower and prices were within a point or two of that level around 2 o’olook. The early selling orders seemed to be readily absorbed around the initial level ot prtres and the mar kets firmed up luter In the morn ing on edvering. rebuying and a null-rate irose demand which wax accompanied by bullish reports from the Southern spot markets and rumors that some of the cotton t be taken up on March contracts sold up to 29.78 und October to 26.00. making net advances of about 11 to 23 points on the active months but there was mre. realiz ing around these figures and prices eased off.
