Woman’s Story Said to

the hospital where the bandit lay
apparently badly wounded.
The<#ien arc said to have had
“satchels of money.” One of them
Was seen during the afternoon of
Wednesday, riding with a young
woman—the woman whose testi-
j mony Is said to have resulted In
the indictment of her companion
and his associate. This woman, ac?
cording to the taxicab driver, rode
for one hour with one of the men
and finally alighted from the cab
on the corner of Milledgc avenue
and Iteese street—one half block
from the hospital.
That was five o’clock. Five hours

aristocratic New York family, was
gone—escaped.
Fourfold Judgment
Call To -P r a y e r
The Banner-Herald has been re
quested fto publish the following,
which is sent out by tho Great
Commission ITayer League, of
Chicago:
Down to 1913, a total of 188
periods of ten years each had pass
ed Into history since Christ's
prophecy of wars, and earthquakes,
ah famines, and pnstilenccs (Luke
1:10. 11); but In not ono of these
lss decades had occurred, all in
samo decade, the worst in His
tory of each of these four terrible
scourges. Then came tho 189th de-
dado'wlt/h It—
tLljTh'V worst wnr tho world has
ever seen, costing 10,000,000 lives
and over $200,000,000,000.
2. The worst eartquake In human
history, the ono in China during
December, 1920, “which literally
shook the globe,” and carried suil-
lenly Into opurnity a quarter of a
iiillion lives. (Some authorities
piuce tlfte estimate far higher.)
,T. 'The worst famine “the world
hns hitherto known,” that of (tus-

erably through starvation, and
“added millions through starvation
plus disease.”
4. Thu worst pestilence, ln some
respects, known to man, world
wide in extent, and exacting .a toll
of fully 12.000,000 lives. In tho
short space of twelve weeks nearly
ti.OOO.OOo persons died. In South
Africa the mortality exceeded the
combined moivallty of three wars,
and in India in a few months’ tin
f.,000,000 deaths occurred.
Is It, or Is it not, significant that
all those prophesied* judgments, in
their worst form, Should occur in
the samo decade?
“All these” said 'Ctirfct, "are
