Trying to Help the Farmer and
Incidentally Ourselves
The Athens Kiwanis Club is proud of the part it
had, in conjunction with other civic organiza
tions and citizens, in the movements for the
betterment of Athens, including recently the
successful movements for having established
here the Cold Storage, Abattoir, and Curb Mar
ket. These enterprises, we belieVe, will stimu
late production of food crops and the raising of
live stock for home consumption, and when the
home needs are met, our purpose is to aid in es
tablishing in Athens an assembling market for
the surplus crops and live stock grown in North
east Georgia.
