I never failed to go with the boys, for wo had gala times. These volunteer firemer were welcomed and honored where- ever they went, being all leading citizens and business men and thr Pioneer Hook and Ladder was the crack organization of Georgia and only once failed to capture and bring home the prize. Some of their trophies are preserved in the firemen's hall at the end of Wash ington street. We vanquished nil opponents In Macon, Rome.
