Rut Danielsville has always bee:
noted for the stability and solven
cy of its merchants, and I cannot
remember, in its long history, that
the town has ever had a commer
cial failure. The farmers of Mad
ison have always held' their good
name and honor very high gnu the
fact of a man being from Mkdison

solvency.
Danielsville, according
last census, has a population of
355, and a finer set of people you
cannot find- But in the m^rch of
progress .Danielsville did not lag
behind but kept abreast of the
times; it has nice churches, and.a
splendid bank, with Mr. John Hol
der, a brother of Judge Holder, as
president, and R- C. Griffith,
cashier. The hank Is w’ell patron

building has been erected and the
town has a high school of which
its citizens are justly proud. I'fof.
Claude Stevens of Carlton is prin
cipal, with a faculty of excellent
teachers. The town has an able
bar in Messrs. C. E. Adams, T. N-
Moseley and J. F. Murray, all na

has two skilled physicians, Dr. W„
D. Gholston and Dr. J. S. Daniel.
Dr. Gholston i» also mayor, ami is
doing some good work in pressing
his town to the front.
NUMBER OF
STORES
Danielsville has a most credita

large and full stocks of general
merchandise- There are L- E.
Green & Co., B. W. Blackwell, R.

a modem town. But around Dan

B. F. Barrett, J. B. Clark, E. W.

But Danielsville being the capital
of the county, gives it prominence
and attracts many to the place, not
only from over the county but
from other towns and sections. Tho

court; Henry Hall, sheriff; Roy
Daniel, superintendent of educa
tion; and Dave Freeman, chairman
of board of supervisors. Judge
Charlie O'Kelley is clerk of the
board, and there is not a better

BOLL WEEVIL
EFFECT SMALL
The boll treevil and exodus move
ment effected Madison perhaps as
little if not less than any county in
the state. Its population is over
whelmingly white, and last year
Madison made a very good cotton
crop in spite of the weevil.
Danielsville is located among the
gently undulating hills of our
beautiful Piedmont region, and a
healthier spot or more delightful
' f residence cannot be found.
. the building of good high
ways and the introduction of mo

settling of the country, interior
towns like Danielsville are sure to
take on new life and development.
Good highways and rapid transit
vehicles put all towns on an equal
