B. R. T. SALES CONFIRMED
NEW YORK. — -reoeial Judge
Mayer yesterday confirmed the sale
of the properties of the New York
Consolidated Railroad Company
and the New York Municipal Rail
way Corporation, subsidiaries of
the B R. T., to the Purchasing
Committee of the newly-organized
Brooklyn-Manhattari Transit Com
pany for $26,000,000. This clears
the way for completing the reor
ganization of the B. R. T. under
the new name of the Brooklyn-
Manhattan Transit Company.
The bid of $26,500,000 was made
half of a purchasing, committee ap
pointed by the reorganization’ com,
mittee. . :
Judge Mayer’s approval of the
sale also clears the way for end
ing the receivership in which the
property of the B. R: T. has been
for months.
