RINGSIDE, I’OI.O GROUND^, NEW YORK CITY—
wizened little fighter, an old man so far as prize ring
longevity goes, rose to the heights here Thursday night,
when he battled for fifteen hard fought rounds with
Eugene Criqui, the world’s featherweight champion, and
war- awarded the decision carrying with it the title, at the
end of the fight.
Johnny Dundee, the "Scotch Wop” saw the end
: f the long lane, which seemed to have no turning, when
the referee raised his ha.id at the finish. Dundee has
been on the trail of the championship*for lo, these many
years, but somehow, the title, like the pot of gold at the j
rainbow’s end, seemed just around the corner, or just]
over the top of the next hill.
