J ryant, who lived alone in a house
about two miles from here on the

home late Friday afternoon.
Mrs. Chapman, who lives near
by, was passing the house and
smelled an odor, and remembering
that site had not seen him in sve-
cral days, went to a window and
saw him lying in the bed death
Mr. James Wood was passing by
at the time and she told him about
it. and he Immediately went to

oner. There being no coroner, T. J-
Nelms. Jr., immediately summoned
a party and went to the home of
Air. llryant. It was found that his
•loath was from natriral causes, nnd
a verdict was so rendered by the
Jury.
The house was locked from tne
inside nnd what money he had. nnd
other effects were found on his
body and in the lied where he had
died. The bodv was so decomposed
he would not have hern known.
lie had been a sufferer from a
spinal trouble all his life, nnd it
is thought this was the cause of
his death. He was found in the
h,.d with hi« clothes on. with the
exception of his shoes, and from
lh« position of hands ami feet
looked ns if he had laid down tn
rest and died suddenly.
The last seen of him was Mon
day. He leaves four brothers. John
Bryant and Van Bryant of this
countv, and two sisters. Mrs. (’has.
McLevy nnd Mrs. Charley Strick
land, of this county. E. B. Bryant,
whose whereabouts are unknown,
and J. H. Bryant, who is now lo
cated at Indianapolis. Ind.
