Pour pounds pouches, 2 cups
elder vinegar, 3 cups sugar, 1 tea
spoon ground clove—, 2 teaspoons
ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon
ground all-spice.
Tie spices In a small muslin
bag. Wash peaches and wipe otf
f’.uz. stick two whole cloves In
each neach. Steam peaches till
tender but not soft. Put peaches In
n large crock. JIako a alrup of
the vinegar, sugar and spices. Ponr
over peaches. Let stand over night
In tho morning let fruit simmer
In vinegar sirup until fruit Is ten
der and transparent. It will take
about n hour. Tack In sterilized
jars, fill to overflowing with the
sirup and sear.
