The Boy Scouts arc making war
on the mosquito this week. The
State Board of Health has desig
nated this as Mosquito Week and
the Boy Scouts are making them
selves quite useful in the eradica
tion of that pest n human life.
Dr. Joseph Krafka. of the Uni
versity of Georgia faculty, and Dr.
J. A. Applewhite, of the Athens
Board of Health talked to the
Athens Scouts Tuesday evping at
the City/ Hall, at 8:15 o'clock, and
every Scout in the city was urged
to be present; for the meeting
to be a most important one.
The citizens of Athens are asknd
to co-operate with the Scouts in
their mosquito drive this week.
They should see that all old cans
or oeher vessels containing stand - I
ing water about their premises are [

fashioned barbecue was served

event which bespeaks the favor

dence.
One feature of the occasion
which was the subject of much fa
vorable comment, was a table occu
pied by the husky grandsons of thlr
