OKLAHOMA CITY.—The efforts of attorneys for Governor Walton to obtain a federal intervention to stop the impeachment trial of the executive failed late Wednesday when Judge John H. Cotteral of the United States District Court at Lawson denied the governor’s application for a restraining order against the prosecution of the impeachment charges.
