Bond Issue Voting Tick ets At One Booth, Nomi nee Ballot At Separate One. The improvement and paving of Broad street from Lumpkin to Milledge depends on the success of the election to be held Wednesday. The voters of the city are to decide the fate of the §50,000 bond issue for this purpose. Interest in the bonds has lagged ever since .they were authorized by council and their passage is very doubtful. One mass meeting was held in their interest last week and at that time committees were promised to work until tho time the polls close. If these com* Imittees were ever completed they have not been very active though they will probably function at th® poIl 3 in getting out the vote. need 1,120 VOTES THAT -- ARE FAVORABLE A total of 1,120 favorable votes is needed to carry the issue. This is^ based on the registration of 2,218 for the primary of lost - week. In the primary election less than 1,400 voters cast their ballots nnd it will be difficult, it is believed, to get sufficient votes out to carry the bonds. However, it is felt by many cit izens that the project is an im portant one in the development of tho city. It would open up a thor oughfare that would greatly re lievo congestion in all the western section of the city. It would, im prove property values as well and would not increase taxes. It was suggested last week, when it was apparent that there was a woeful lack of interest in the bonds, to call the vote off*Jbsn| this was thought unwise since tfiira defeat of bond issues very seldom imperils thoir future .success. years from ISIS ware due the couniy.
