George Morton, newly-elect
ed captain of tho 1929 football team
of tho University ot Georgia, was
host to the letter-r..en of the 1925
team at a beautifully planned din
ner at his home Tuesday. The oc
casion was the flrBt of a seriea of
dinners which -will be given In
honor of tho out-going team.
The exquisitely appointed long
oval table. Beating twenty-four let-
ter-mt'n, was centered with a large
basket filled with dozens of gon
geoua red Columbia rosoa and
madicnlmlr fern. Seldom ha«
roses of such rich red beauty been
seen In Athchs before. The tall
bandto of the basket was adorned
with large bows of red tulle. This
exquisite centerpiece rested on a
largo mlrrcr, surrounded by smllax.
The color scheme of red and black
was carried out In tho streamers
that radiated from the basket to
the silver candlesticks at each end
holding red tapers on wh ch
bows of tulle with flowers in the
center. The place cards wero little
three inch dolls resembling foot,
ball players, dressed in tho Geor
gia uniform of red sweater, tan
trousers, black shoes,, with tho let
ter "G” on tho sweater front In
b’ack. Each little doll was mount
ed on a card which was hand-
painted in red and black.
The lower floor of the home was
brightened with quantities of flow-
era; the spacious library and re.
ception rooms were decorated wttn
red pcinsettlas, and the living
room with yellow and white chry
santhemums.
The occasion was ono of tne
happiest of the season, and will
live long in the memory of those
who were privileged to attend..
