Athens will be celled upon
to rally to thq support of the
Y. W. C. A. next week when
the campaign for maintenance
funds sets under way. The
“Y. W.” has too long been
looked upon by the general
public as something that will
“get along” somehow if just
let alone and deserves the
support ,of every person in
the city with any pride of
home and womanhood. The
women who have "nursed"
the Y. W. C. A. along in
Athens, refusing to let or sea
it die, deserve great credit
nnd they have enough faith in
the men and women in gen
eral of Athens to believe that
they are going to "see this
thing of the Y. W. C. A.
through to success." Next
week they’ll know whether
their faith has been well
founded or not.
Here's an editorial from the
Macon Telegraph that might
be read and then digested
with a bit of thought all over
Georgia:
WHICH SHOULD KNOW?
Speaking at Athens Tues

counties are able to match
the Federal funds, which
would, of course, drain them
to the point where they would
not be tble to touch the by
ways. Mr., Neel also pointed
out and demonstrated conclus
ively that the gasoline tax
and the motor license tax
would pay off the principal
and interest of a bond issue
