Boon paid a lovely tribute to
mother* in her toast to “Our
Guides.” Mrs. J. W. Jenkins most
charmingly apoke of the “Sign
Posts,’’ which arc placed along
this road to womanhood by those
who have passed uy to ward in
advance th, younger girls, who are
but starting on the journey.
Miss Ruth Heywood, in her
toast to “Our Companions,’’ apoke

Work and the three companions
which should -be of assistance to

pose and code of the Girl Reserves.
Miss Martha McAlpin summed
up all the aspects of the road to
womanhood and described In a fit
ting and delightful way the goal
toward which all journey and the
things necessary to do to reach
the goal.
Special music was rendered dur
ing the program by Miss Sarawill
Collins and Miss Virginia Camp
bell, who played piano numbers,
true to the charge given to us in
passing on the Light of tho World
to our daughters. We want to be
mothers in the truest sense and to
cultivate the spirit of true mother
hood which -nail rule in our lives.”
They then lighted the candles of
th ir daughters who then repeateo
their pledge: “Wie accept this
light ox pure womanhood from our
mothers and will endeavor to live
up to its obligations as our moth
ers have done. We would honor
them by being true to th.lr dreams
for us.”
Aft. r singing the Y. W. C. A.
song, "Follow the Gleam,” the
group formed the traditional
friendship chain and brought the
program to a close by singing,
“Blest Be the Tie that Binds.”
All who were present at the ban
quet keenly felt the absence ol
Mrs- A. 6. Parker, the president
of the Association. So is so be
