many chairs were grouped around
small tallies. In this radiant gar
den an. orchestra played delight
fully throughout tb* evening.
The outdoor picture of match
less charm was continued in the
lovely rooms, where rich furnish
ings of old mahogany and wonder
ful portraits wer* glorified by
clusters of vari-colored flowers
everywhere. Vases and baskets of
gorgeous gladioli, lilies, roses
combined with *all the season’s
garden flowers, filled nitches, out-
ined mantels and graced console
tables.
The elegantly appointed tab!*
in the dining room , was overlaid
with an imported lace cloth with
the center overlaid with a large
silver bowl of Easter liltes, pink
gladioli and other flowers In the
pastel shades. Silver candlesticks
held the unshaded green tapers,
and silver platters held th© indi
vidual cakes, with Toon ibon dishes
filled with salted almonds and
flowered mints.
Everywhere the scene was per-
fect.
