BREAKFAST — Plums, cereal,
cream, creamed dried beef with
broiled tomatoes, graham rolls,
I coffee.
LUNCHEON—Cheess timbales,
ca&bage salad, prune corn bread,
lemonade.
DINNER—Roast veal, browned
potatoes, lyonaise LVets, cucum
ber and endive aslad, ibaked apple
dumplings with cream, milk, cof
fee.
Prune Corn Bread.
One-half pound prunes, 2 cups
white flour, • 1 cup corn meal, C
| teaspoons baking powder, 1-2 tea-
> spoon salt, 1-4 cup sugar, 2 eggs,
1 1-4 cups milk.
Wash prums and let stand in
cold water to cover over night. In
tHe morning drain and steam until
tender but not soft. Remove
stones and cut fruit in quarters.
Sift flour, salt, baking powder and
sugar end mix with cornmeal. Add
prunes and mix well. Beat eggs
until light and add with milk to
first mixture. Beat hard and turn
into a buttered dripping pan. Bake
thirty minutes in a moderately
hot oven. Cut in squares and
servo warm witl^butter.
WASHING BLANKETS
In washing blankets, first shak:
out all the dust, then plunge them
into thick hot suds for an hour or
so. Wash quickly in clean hot
suds, hang single on the line,
stretching well and pinning firmly
^nd smoothly. Rinse with the
hose.
