on Friday afternoon. The home
was very attractive with its dec
orations of varl-colored autumn-
flowers. The occasion was the
assembling together of the lovers
of flowers to organize a garden
club. Mrs. W. D. Hooper of Ath
ena state organizer for garden
clubs of Georgia, was present and
t toId with interest of the work. So
conr*4icingly did she describe the
beauty‘of the culture of {towers
that a club was organized with a
membership of 28 charter mem
bers.

beautiful of spring flowers.
Mrs. Lamar Rucker, of Athens,
told most interestingly of her
moonlight garden.
An Invitation was given by Mrs.

the following were accepted as

TEA DANCE OPENS WEEKEND
COLLEGE ACTIVITIES
The opening dances of the Uni
verslty of Georg'a will be held
'this week-end on the same date
Georgia opens her football season

dances and two tea dances to be
held in Memorial Hall, sponsored
by the Pan-Hellen'c council.

to attend the opening dances, ac

ing Thursday, morning at the

It was decided by the club not
to have a Full Flower show owing
to the scarcity of Flowers, but
discussed planq for 'the Spring
show. This is the t'me to plan
many flowers for next Spring and
the club hopes to make Athens
Gardens more beaullful than ever.

flowers discussed and Mr. Duncan
Burnet whose- garden- IK famous
for the golden flowers made a
most Interesting talk. Mrs. E. K
Lumpkin who has the most spa

city discussed Lilies also Mrs.
