WIE NEED HIM
By Ellen Marion Welsh
'Tis Christmas Eve; o’er all the
earth
A solemn stillness lies;
The noise and turmoil of the day
Are hushed ’neath starlit skies.
'Tis Christmas time—'tis Loving
time
In our dear land of Home;
'Tis Dreaming time—'his Mem
ory time
Wherever we may roam.
The Prigce of Peace is knocking,
Oh,
Will Nations bid Him stay?
We need Him! How we need Him
Every minute of the day.
We need Him in ¢he Castle and
The Cottage in the glen; ‘
We need Him in our home li”
and
Our touch with fellow-men.
Frail Human- Hearts, oh heed th
Bells
Of Christmas ere they cease;
The Kine of Nations—Christ
here;
Thrrugh Him alone—come
Peace.
