Margie Hesper, 22, was in a Mem
phis hospital Thursday with bul
let wounds in her face and chest
2ud Mrs. Bessie Keene, wife of a
Lepanto, Arkansas, farmer, was
being held under SI,OOO bond to
answer for the shooting which oc
curred Wednesday night at the
‘young woman’s home at Lepanto.
Miss Hesper told police here
she was shot by Mrs. Keene,
‘mother of four children as she lay
sleeping in her home, Dispateh

Keene as saying she had warned
Miss Hesper, a divorcee and for
mer boarder in the Keene home of
alleged attentions to her husband.

F. Brady, chairman of the board
of the New York Edison Com
pany, died here Thursday. He was
51 years old. He was also an offi
cer or director of the United

Copper Company and several other

|principal internal loans for at
least two and a half years has
been announced by the Soviet gov
errment as part of ‘ts program for
the speedy industrialization of the
country.
| The bonds of three’ important
internal loans totalling over , 1,-
750,000 rubles, herctofore sold to
'the banks or used as collateral in
| borrowing small amounts. Under
the new decree the hcolders of
these bonds cannot dispose of them
|until the realzaticn of the Five
{Yezr Plan.
| Only in exceptional cases, where
lthe bond-holders are ill, disabled or
io’ herwise in dire need-—ar:
| prove that fact to the satisfact’en
'of a speeial commission—will they
be allowed to turn their loans to
the &overnment into cash.
The Soviet press fully admits
that it means add tional hardshin
'for the population, but the Soviet

promised future of a prosperous
