his home in Decatur Wednesday
night at 9:40 o’clo k, following
an illress of two weeks. His re.

road at 10:50 o'elock.

Kiwanis club at a meeting held at
the Gceorgian Hotel Thursday aft

blind in Georgia.
Dr. Harris 1s devoting much of
his time to the organization of
local chapters of the Georgia As
sociation of Workers for the
Blind. Clarke county, with fifty
four blind persons out of a popu
lation of 26,111, has a much larg
er blind population than the aver
age county in the Urited States
Dr, Harris said, He is especially
interested in getting a chapter of
this- association located in Ath
ens, Dr. Harris is a brother-in
law of Dr. C. 0. Middlebrooks.

Singers To Give
Concert in Athen:
A concert will be given here at
the First A. M. E. church next
Tuesday night at 8:30 o’clock hy
the “Williams Colored Singers.”
Admission will be fifty cents,
and the proceeds will be used for
remodeling the church buiding.
The Wi'liams singers are said to
be among the best of Negro en
tertainers and their program here
will comprise jubilee songs, plan
tation songs, Negro melodies, Ne
gro lu'labys, comic songs, cabin
and river songs, ballads, c'assic
selections, sacred and sentimental
songs.
The Wiliam singers have bee’
trained at Rust University, Mis.
sissippi; Livingstone College,
Drake University, Oberlin Col
lege. The group comprises nine
men and women singers.
