girls were defeated by Winterville
in their first game of the season
here last Saturday has made them
put in twe days of hard work
this week in preparation for games
with Hartwell and Lavonia.

under the direction of a scientifi
cally trained health expert, who
knows his job theroughly, and has

ucation from the Southern Y. M.
C. A. College at Nashville,

ward Davison, will deliver the
second of the Barrow Foundation
léctures. The address will be
given at the University chapel at
12:40 o'clock.

Poetry”; and the comment of
,those who have heard this lecture
justifies the belief that the occas.
ion will be one of the mnotable
events of the academic year.
As a matter of fact, Mr. Davi
gson is already well known in
Athens. On his former visit he
made quite a profound impression.
Mr. Davison is a Scot. As a boy of
16, he managed to join the British
naval forces as an ordinary sea
man when the great war broke
out in 1914. When the war closed
he was an officer in the Naval In
telligence Service. He then spent
three years at St. John's college,
Cambridge, where he received his
A, B.and M. A. degrees.
While in Cambridge, he edited
the Cambridge Review, the oldest
of the Brit:%h un:iversity journals,
