with me to direct yoyr future

urge you to a repetition of the

“You see, madam, when once
the woman has tempted us, and
we have tasted the forhidden fruit,
there is no such thing as check

daresay, recognize our being the
genuine descendants of those who
are reputed to be our great pro

“Before I come to the more
serious conclusion of my letter, 1
must beg leave to say a word or
two about these fine things you
have been telling in such harmo

and soul of poetry. All poets and
poetesses have been indulged in
the free and indisputable use of
it, time cut of mind; and to oblige
you to make such "an excellent

“G. WASHINGTON.”
“Morven,” spoken of in Gereral
Washington's letter, was the
Stockton home at Princeton, New
Jersey, ‘and was often visited by
General Washington. It has been
in possession of the Stockton
family for 225 years. It will be
interesting to note, that during
the Revolutionary war, ‘“Morven”
was directly in the route of the
invading army in its march
through New Jersey. The house
wag pillaged, and for some time
made the headquarters of the
ißritish army. Judge and Mrs.
Richard Stockton were the great.

Stocks Go Through
Dullest Saturday
Since Last August
NEW YORK —(AP)— Patiently
waiting for something to turn up.
stocks Saturday droned through
the dullest Saturday since last
August, Transactions amounted
to 400 8349 shares and price changes
simmered down toward the vanish
ing point.
The market refused to express
svmpathy over Auburn’s early sag
to a new low, The list’s behavior
bore out the consensus of broker
age houses that a professional
trading area was all that could be
expected until events change the
viewpoint.
Railroad earnings statements
provided material for further com
ment. Santa Fe had an operating
deficit of $125901 last month,
which prompted some selling of the
stock. However, the extreme 2
point loss was halved. Baltimore
& Ohio made a good showing,
thanks. to a sharp reduction in op
erating expenses.
COTTON RALLIES }
NEW YORK—(AP)— After sag
ging in early trading Saturday cot
ton rallied with May contracts sell
ing up from 6.99 to 7.07 and closing
at that figure. The general mar
ket closed steady, net 2 points
higher to 1 point lower.
