both violin and piano with the
Chicago Symphony Orchestra. ,
. Her professional career beganl
with a position as assistant violin |
instructor at Deerfield High
‘school, Winnetka, Illinois, which
position she relinquished after
}one year to teach piano and vio
lin in the Conservatory of Music
‘at Miami university, Florida,
‘where she became concert master
of the University orchestra under
‘the direction of Arnold Volpe.
During the summer of 1928 she‘
was a member of Edwin Hughes'
master class in piano, and studied
violin with Arnold Volpe in New
York city. During 1929 and 1930
she continued her study in Chi
cago, and taugh in Gary, Ind. Mrs,
Parrott has appeared in recitals
in Chicago, 111.,, Jacksonville and
Miami, Fla., Gary, Ind., Atlanta,
Athens and Rome, Ga., and in a
Inumber of smaller cities.
