We had hardly finished writing the
account of the‘fatal runaway’ in nu-
other plaoe when we received the news
of another serious affair which occur
red on the place of Mr. William Perry
who lives on the line of Walton and
Gwinnett counties. Mr. Darby, who
lives in the neighborhood brought the
information. It seems that Mr. Perry
runs a saw mill and also a gin in the
season. For theso purposes he has a
stationary engine. Yesterday, while
Mr. Perry and his father, Mr. John
Perry, with some negro men were en
gaged in some work near tho engine,
which was steamed up but not run
ning, it suddenly exploded with fatal
results. Mr. John Perry and one of
the negro men were killed, and two
other negroes were seiiously wound
ed. It was thought one ofthe latter
will die. Mr. Win. Perry escaped.
We did not learn any cause lor the
explosion and cannot state whether
it was from any defect in the machine
itself or a lack of proper attention.
Mr. Perry, the gentleman killed, was
an old citizen and well known in that
section and also in Athens. This,
with tho other catastrophe in Oconee
county is most deplorable.
BKIGHT’8 disease
and other, affections of the Kidneys

on and often aggravated by the neg>
lent ofthe symptoms, which, if laken
in time, would no doubt in a majority
of cases yield to treatment. No med-
icinu is so well suited for this as Kan-

to the parts, allays irritation, and
restores healthy action.

In A . one of Florida’s sea
port towns, there lived in ante beiluni
days, a wealthy but very eccentric oltl
gentleman, who at one occasion being
quite sick, awoke his wife in the mid
dle ol the night, with a tremendous
uproar. To her anxious inquiry as to
the cause of his excitement^ he testily
replied that, ‘ he had not thought
much about his illness, until he had
just happened to remember that, in
case he should die, the town could not
afford a decent coffin in which to
bury him” That man was bilious.
A few doses of H. II. P. would have
cured hint, and caused him to forget
that there were such things as coffins.

• lutelkyeiice reached the city this
morning of the death ol Mr. William
Hunter, son of the late sheriff Hun-'
ter, of Jackson county, which oc
curred iu Texas, whither he had just
gone for- the purpose of making that
state his home. He left Jackson
county on the 12th inst., with the ex
cursion which went to Atlanta, and
was apparently perfectly well. We
are told, however, that be had had
the mumps, and had not entirely re
covered from them when he left. His
relatives tried to dissuade him from
going so earl$, but he Concluded ; to
i irk it anyhow.*- The first news re
ceived from him was through a let
ter front a physician in Texas who
had waited on him. The letter stated^
that Mr. Hunter was taken sick
the route, and by the time he reached
his destination ho was in a critical
condition, floi was taken charge of
and well cared for but congestion of
the brain developed itself and he died
the very-night alter his arrival.
This is a aid blow to his family and
a source-of deep regret to his friends.
Mr. Hunter was a half brother of Mr.
bam Hunter ot this city. lie was a
largo, stout young man, the personi
fication of robust heallii, and bid fail
to five long when he left his home less
than two weeks ago. Thuswexems
plifiid again the dread uncertainty of
life.
The physician wrote that he
in the hands of friends and was
properly attended to in his burial.

equally beneficial iu all cases of
