Dr. Patterson will preach at St. Mary's church to-night. Mrs. Dr. Lyndon has been ill for Ion days, but is somewhat improved. Miss Emeiino Reynolds left for Atlanta this morning on a visit to her brother. We regret to hear that Mrs. Dr. McCleiky is very ill. Sho was con sidered in a critical condition last night. A bolt of lightning struck some thing near the city during the rain, probably the Georgia railroad track. In the case ot the state vs Robert Parks, (col) charged with rape, in the justice court, the defendant was discharged on payment of cost. The case of the state vs Dora Ben nett, charged with larceny was tried ir. the city court this morning and a verdict ol not gnilty was rendered. Judge Asa M. Jackson and wife hnvo returned (rom their visit to the mountains. The Judge seems much improved and is in cheerful spirits. Dr. E. S. Lyndon rccievod a fine pointer, by express from New nan, this morning, unusually intelligent animal and the Doctor thinks much ol him. There is a little dullness and inac tivity apparent just now but it is the calm, before the storm. In two or three weeks the city will be all life and bustle in business circles. I have used your Female Regulator extensively in my practice for a long time, and with entire success where there was no complication of disease. If it is not a specific, it is, in my opine ion, the best known remedy for the diseases lor which it is recommended. Iai 4-lin. J. H. Davis. M. D.
