The Case ot Sirs. Fitzpatrick.
Tlie circumstances attending the
death of Mrs. Jaue Fitzpatrick to
which allusion was made in the Ban*,
uer yesterday, were of so unusual
and distressing a character that wc
extract a little of the testimony given
bclore the Coroner’s jury in order
that onr reajlefs may see how pitia
ble a condition a woman can be placed
in in this erligbtened country. The
inhumanity of the husband is some'
thing beyond compiehension.
Mr. Wiley F. Hood said that the
deceased had liad nothing to eat that
a sick woman would' want, except a
chicken, for several weeks. Six or
eight week:} ago she onine to him lor
provisions and got them. She said
that Mr. yiupalrick had promised
her so mo money but Mr- Hood
did not expect to get any pay. lie
kuew she was suffering for something
to eat. All she had «h» bad worked
for and bought herself. In his judg
ment il she bad had a physician with
her at first she would not have died;
that a lack ol treatment and nourish
ment was the cause of her death. On
several occasions-ho had furnished her
with meal, meataud coffee,she telling
him she was sev. :>ig lor a lady in town
and would pay him. She said Mr.
Fitzpatrick would do nothing lor her.
Fitzpatrick had abused her by cursing
her, but ho had never heard of his
striking her. She had been suffering
fur two months.
Doctor J. M. Cailton said he
saw her a short time since aud
found site had intermittent lever. He
•ffer # l to wend her medicine but she
did not send for it. He did not
think her case dangerous when lie
saw her. On the night before her
death her husband called and said
she had taken a large draught of
water. I prescribed a ball, in hot
whiskey and some anodyne powders
but do not know that they were ad
ministered. The water might have
cnised congestion.
Mis. Jobu Cain said Mrs. Fitzpat
rick drnuK four dippers of water. Her
husband, after much persuasion went
to the doctor but brought no medi
cine. He told bis wife slie was a lool
ami ought to be dead, aud abused
her. She was given a hot red pepper
bath.
M re. Mattie Flournoy said when
she heard Mrs F was sick sue carried,
her some butter, bread and coffee.
The latter said it was too late, but if
site had bad such food sooner it would
have done her good. Mr. F. came
in and sat on the bed and said that
food was enough to kill a well person,
much less a sick one. Mrs. F. told
hitn she was unable to cook and bad
nothing to cook, lie said he was not
beholden to her or any other damned
woman. He could get his own break
fast. Mrs. F. said she was unable to
work and her husband would not as
sist her: •?" 04 *
Becky Hale (col.) said she had
heard Fitzpatrick curse his wife sev-,
eral times. One time she asked hint
to put her on the bed and he said,
“God d—d you, you shall go to sleep,
and it is a pity you can’t sleep lor-
evor.”
Mrs. V. Lemon said that she heard
Mrs. F. say she bad suffered lor
food; that Mr. Hood had famished
all she had had for some time,

Woman’s Rights.—One who has
long studied this subject now presents
the result of his investigations. He
is happy to say that he has discovered
Woman’s Best Friend.’ It is adapts
ed especially to those cases where the
womb is disordered, and will cure any
irregularity of the ‘ menses.’ Brad-
field’s Female Regulator acts like a
charm in ‘whites,’ or a sudden cheek
ot the ‘ monthly courses,’ lrom cold,
trouble of miiul or like causes, liy
restoring the discharge in every in
stance. In chronic cases its action is
prompt and decisive, and saves the
constitution from countless evils and
premature decay. Prepared by Dr,

I Lave used your Female Regulator
extensively in my practice for a long
time, and with entire saceess where
there was no complication of disease.
If it is not a specific, it is, in my opins
ion, tlio best known remedy for the
diseases lor which it is recommended.

Insurance building. This is one of
the most desirable pieces of property
in the city. The lot is large and- runs
through tho block to Market street.
W o understand it is the design of
Mr. Campbell to have the house moved
and turned around so as to front the
latter street and be in close proximity
to the church which is on the upper
comer. The portion of tho lot on
Clayton will then be divided into
smaller lots suitable for business houses

A Gentleman writes: ‘My wife used a bottle of ‘Mothers Relief’ procured from you. She
was considerbly advanced in life betore this, her first confinement, and she knows it was the
means of very greatly lessening her buffering ifi indeed, it was not the means of «avino her l»mc.
Another gentleman writes: “My wife used your ‘Mother’s Relief* at her fourth confinement
and her testimony is that she passed though it with one-half the suffering of either of her former
triend who was aoout to be confined tor the first time, and she says : I havk never seen any
ONE PASS THROUGH THIS GREAT TRAIL WITH SO MUCH EASE AXD SO LITTLE 8UFFERINO.”
The names of these, and many others, can be had bycally at my office.
Having had the foregoing remedy Thoroughly Tested in Atlanta and viciuity, I now offer
