We find the following coroplimen* Ury notice in the Augusta Chronicle and Constitutionalist: ‘•lion. Pope Barrow, of Athens, was yesterday in the city on legal bus iness. He was wartulv welcomed by his inaa/Hrieods, who -hold him in high adfhiAition as, a lawyer and statesman. Mr. Barrow is .one of the ablest men in Georgia, and* has left valuable impress upon the statute and organic law§ of the state. There are many who wish to see him called to higher posts of duty,* and nothing but his owp disinclination will ever prevent his promotion.” And the following in the last num ber of the University Reporter: ••We have heard, and have no rea* son to doubt our authority, that Gen. It is also rumored that the South Carolina Railroad baa bought the interest of the Louisville and Nashville in the Georgia Road.
