Uupon this, a foundation to fup-

ed in an oval medallion, a diiUnt
view of a city in flames, and in the
front ground flificry, recording the
event—over which, in a fmall ef
cutchton, is the arms of V ginia.
On the front of the pyramid a
fight of fteps is exhibited, at the
top of which is feen an urn, the fi
gure of humanity embracing of if,
we* pit g ov-r the afhes of herchil
dren—\diftwf view of the capitol,
andanar fi/ing with a fcroll of
the calamity to Heaven.
Oa the reverfe of the barrmenf,
is reprefented Death, levelling in
discriminately an Oak, a Lilly and
a Rofe.
On the reverfe of the pyramid is
propofed to be engraved a faithful
narative of the event. On the r<ght
file, the refolutions of the leg 111-
turr, and on the left the refolvcs of
the common hall of Richmond, on
the occafion.
