To organize the detachments of
men which now are, or hereafter

Jacob Lewis , (commonly called com
modore Lewis ) the United Stares*
gun beats, of which there are about
40 on this flat ion, are to be detached
from the navy, and put under the
command of the commodore, or colonel,
the whole under the dir eft ion of Gen,
Armfirong. The warrant officers now
attached to the boats, we under fi and,
will retain their places, and receive

the time they are in aftual fervice —
The recruiting for this marine militia
goes oh brijkly , and we have the full
efi confidence in the bravery. JkUl aad
efficiency of this corps, when completed
in their numbers and difcipline, for
