Travel and traffic between this sec tion and Washington City being brisk at nearly all seasons ot the year, we desire to call the attention of visitors to the National Hotel, Washington, D. C. This is one of the finest hotels South of the Potomac, keeps the table supplied with all the luxuries the markets of the world afford, and is pr-sided over by Mr. Thomas II. That one or more large ware houses will be erected the coining summer in order that storage may be furnished for the thousands of bales of cotton that otherwise will have to remain in the streets. We hope these rumors may prove correct, for while the appearance of hundreds of bales of cotton on the different business streets gives our city a lively appear ance, it also creates the impression that we hardly know how to handle the staple nicely. This is the first we have had in this section this winter. —Loyd Williams, after spending three months in merry England, with his relatives and friends, returned to Athens via Northeastern Railroad Thursday morning.
