The differ ence of 254 deaths may fairly, per- heps, be attributed to excessive heat. A horse has been on exhibition in Penn Ynn that has a snake Jin the watery humor of the left eye. The reptile is perfectly formed, of a white color, and about the size of an ordi nary darning needle. It is plainly visible, and is constantly on the move wriggling and twisting iu every di rection.
