and such other persons as mav htveaf.cr be as
sociated with them, desire to be incorporated
and made a bodv politic under and by the
name ot The Athens Ice Manufacturing Com
pany, the object of their association being tlie
manufacture and sale ot ice; that they propose
to carry on the business of manufacturing ice
and selling the same both by wholesale and re*
tail under the corporate name aforesaid, that
they have two thousand dollars of capital to be
employed by them actually paid in; that their
place of doing business is m said State and
county near the city of Athens; and that they
desire to be incorporated for twenty years
witli a capital stock of fifteen thousand dollars
for tlie objects and purposes aforesaid, with no
liabi ity upon the part of any individual stock
holder for the debts of the corporation beyond
tlie amount of the unpaid subsc ription ot said
stockholder to the capital stock.
Wherefore your petitioners pray tliat the
persons aforesaid ami such others as may here
after be associated with them and their suc
cessors may be incorporated tor and during a
term of twenty years, with the privilege of re
newal at the expiration of that time for the ob
jects and purposes above set forth and iu the
manner therein set forth, under the corporate
name us above stated ; that by and in said cor
porate name they may have the right to sue and
be sued ; to buy tmd'hold such real es:ate and
other property as they may deem necessary to
carry out the objects and purposes of their
charter; to make such By-laws and Reg
ulations and have such officers as they may
deem necessary not iu conflict with the laws of
this State; to* have and use a common seal,
and thj same at will to alter; and to make any
and all lawful contracts necessary for carrying
on their business ; and your petitioners will
ever pray, &c.
