The sister very discreetly withdrew,
while the young statesman finished his

was a Colonel then wasn’t you V”—
The other replied, “No, sir, I was a
private and always have been.’’ There

Good Digestion.—“ Give us this
day our daily bread” and good medi
cine to digest it, is both reverent and
human. The human stomach and
liver me fruitful sources of life’s
comforts ; or disordered and diseased,
they tingle misery along every nerve
ami through every artery. The man
or woman with good digestion see
beauty as they walk, and overcome
obstacles they meet in the routine of
life, where the dispeptic sees only
gloom and stumbles and growls at
even imaginary objects. The world
still needs two or three new kinds of
mediciue before death can be perfectly
abolished ; but that many lives have
been prolonged, and many sufferers
from Liver disease, Dicpepsia and
Headache, have been cured by Mcr-
rell’s Hepatitic, is no longer a doubt.
It cures Headache in twenty minutes,
and there is no question but what it is
the most wonderful diecovciy made in
medical science. Those afflicted with
Biliousness and Liver Complaint
should use Merrell’s Hcpatine.

DU. DIGGERS—Dear Sir: In the use of your Southern Remedy in my family, I have found it the
