ALL KINDS OF WORK,
In his line in a neat and workmanlike
The Now Stylo Organ.
[From the Christian Index, July 11,1878.]
Hitherto there has been an un-
satisfied demand for a Parlor Organ
which should combine power, sweet*
ness and variety of tone with a per
fect action, enclosed in a rich and
ornamental case, which could be sold
at a very moderate price. After
spending large snms of money
experimenting, J. Estey A Co. have
at last succeeded in manufacturing
an organ which covers the whole
ground. The action, by an ingenious
and yet perfectly simple mechanism,
has been rendered independent, and
oannot be affected, like others, by
changes in the weather. A new and
surprisingly beantifnl design of case 1
has been fashioned, and many other
improvements been made, and we are
informed by G. P. Guilford, Estey’s
Managing Agent for the South, that
in his experience of twenty-nine
years, lie has never seen such a
universal favorite as this organ seems
to be. He has sent it out on trial to
be tested with other organs, ami that
not * ne has ever been returned;
neithi i* has h- 'ailed to sell it to any
elision er win* has ever seen it.
Having dom away with all local
agencies, Estey has determined to
sell through Mr. Guilford directly to
customers; thus giving them the
benefit of all discounts and commis*
sions. jnly.23.tf

Rome was settled by two young
men who came to Henry county
about 753 B. C. Their grandpa’s
brother sent them down the river on
a steamboat, only there was no pteam-
boat. But the young men did not
diown; they just floated along until
they came to Rome, where they
landed. They were only a few wdfeks
old, so they hired an old wolf to take
care of them and give them rations.
Then when they were old enough
they slew the old wolf and took her
scalp to the county clerk’s office and
got two dollars and a halt for it.
Afterward they called on the old
gentleman, who had paid their pas
sage down the river, and had it ont
with him. Remus held the old gen
tleman’s ears while Romulus passed a
thin slab of steel from the sterno
hyoid muscle through the common
carotid art eries and jugular vein, and
emerging a little below the occipital
bone. Shortly afterward the action
of the heart became irregular and
weak, the pulse fell rapidly, and there
was a genteel decrease in the temper
ature of the body, respiration became
difficult, and finally impossible, artic
ulation was impeded, and when the
family physician arrived it was evi
dent that a permanent suspension of
the vital forces had already ensued.
It is claimed by some historians, in
deed, that poor old Atnulius never
recovered from the shock, but died
the same day, which being wash-day,
covered the memory of Amalias with
ignominy. Shortly after this event
the two brothers returned to Rome
where one day Reinns, while climb
ing over a fence around his brother's
watermelon patch, was shot by
Romulus, although other authorities
say he was killed on the railroad,
while trying to carry two quarts ot
Roman whisky across the track in
front of a B. and M. freight engine.
After that Romulus disappeared, and
the Romans think he went to heaven,
although the appearance of
Bliftois sheriff in Rome -two hows
after Romulus became scarce' has
caused some authorities to think he
went to the peniteutiary. Romnlns
and his brother were considered
great.mmi, and stood very high in so
ciety, though it is said that their ma
was no better than she should have
been, fh;ch was very consistent in
her. These boys had two Mars in
“ Pappy, old Mr. Smith’s gray
colt has broken into our cabbage patch
again.”
“ He has, has he ? Well, just load
my rifle, my son, and we will see if
an ounce of lead will not lead Mr.
Smith’s colt to reform his habits.’’
This colloquy passed between Mr.
and Master Stubbs, just after tea. As
soon as it was dark, Mr, Stubbs takes
his rifle, marches over towards old
Smith’s ferra, and when witbm about
thirty rods of old Mr. Smith’s barn,
he raised the deadly tube, pulled
trigger, and dropped. -one of the
vei^besfToSking grvf colts t'n the
country.
Stubbs having fulfilled his mission,
returned home, wont to bed, and
slept with a brighter conscience than
he had enjoyed for the last eight
months. The next morning, while
seated at breakfast, who should be
seen striding towards the domicile ot
Mr. Stnbbs, but old Mr. Smith.
Smith entered the house—Smith was
excited, and for a moment lacked
words to express himself.
“ Mr. Stubbs, I’ve come over to
tell you that a horse was shot near
my barn last night.”
“ Sorry to hear it, Mr. Smith, al
though not much surprised, for that
gray colt of yours is not calculated to
make many friends.”
But it was not my colt that got
shot.’’
“Wasn’t your gray colt! Well,

“ That gray colt you purchased last
week of Widow Duois. He broke
in my pasture last evening ; I inten
ded to send him over this morning,
but it’s no nse now—his brains lay
scattered around the barn-yard.
Mr. Siubba was thunderstruck.
The idea that he killed the wrong
horse drove him to desperation, and
caused him to seek relief in a direc
tion that rather astonished his house
hold. The last seen of Stubbs, he

A Remarkable Result.—It
makes no difference how many Phy
sicians, or how much medicine you
have tried, it is now an established
fact that German Syrup is the only
remedy which ha3 given complete
satisfaction in severe cases of Lung
Diseases. It is true there are yet
thousands of persons who are predis
posed to Throat aud Lung Affections,
Consumption, Hemorrhages, Asthma,
Severe Colds settled on the Breast,
Pneumonia, Whooping Cough, &c.,
who have no personal knowledge of
Boschee’s German Syrup. To such
we would say that 50,000 dozen were
srild last year without one complaint.

Good Digestion.—“ Give us this
day our daily bread” and good medi
cine to digest it, is both reverent and
human. The human stomach and
liver are fruitful sources of life’s
comforts ; or disordered and diseased,
they tingle misery along every nerve
and through every artery. The man
or woman with good digestion see
beauty as they walk, and overcome
obstacles they meet in the routine of
life, where the dispeptic sees only
gloom and stumbles and growls at
even imaginary objects. The world
still needs two or three new kinds of
medicine before death can be perfectly
abolished; but that many lives have
been prolonged, and many sufferers
from Liver disease, Dispepsia and
Headache, have been cored hy-Mor
rell’s Hepatine, is no longer , a doubt.
It cures Headache in twenty minutes,
and there is no question but what it is
the most wonderful discovery made in
medical science. Those- afflicted With
Biliousness and Liver Complaint
should use Merrell’s Hepatino.
