Tli - superb show, with all it* ac» com partying attractions, will perform here on Thursday, December l*2th. Col. Moore, of the Augusta Evening writes as follows ip a r- cent issue of the mngnificen' London : This g-and combination of all that 4 w novel and attractive in the arenic and zoological lines, will pe. • form here twice only/ ,fho «TeeolIec- tions of everybody in this vicinity of this superb show and all its people are of the most pleasant and lively character. Two years ago it came here in mid winter and remained until Spring; the face cf every rvme»ibercd, and also warmly tor their urbswe-hehevior. The officers and proprietors, including Messrs. John _ J. Parks, R. H. Dockrill and Henry Jfaroum are first chiss business men and won the esteem and respect of < nil with whom they earae in contact. Aside from all these tacts, the exhi bition itself is of a character to open ly and successfully defy rivalry. Its priding, including the single and four horse specialties of M’llo Elise Dock- '^•jll and a’, dozen other almost as a ually celebrated artists, is the best d ■ most daring ever performed in a ring. The gymnastic atd acrobatic feats led by the intrepid Gardner in Ins double somersault over five mon ster elephants, and participated in by thirty agile athletes, has not been equaled in this vicinity. The clowns ■re entirely original, aud the entire - outfit of wardrobe, properties and paraphernalia is of the most bright ' and fresh nature. Of the menagerie itself—the theme of instruction for the young and the old too—it is nlmost useless to write. All will remember its colos-al propor tions—the five inastadonic elephants in pyramid to almost the top of the great pavilion; the group of five ferocious tigers performed by the brave Alfred S;ill ; the den of ten grove.robbing hyenas; ilien cage All cording eage filled with every possible curiosity and interesting ob ject from the wide field of zoology. In a word, the great Loud n Show is more complete and perfect than any other on earth It were well for all managers to take it as a model and inmate its thousand great lea- tuns. From the first appearance of its princely agents to the hour when the tents themselves are folded for removal to the next stand or stoj>- ping place, there is but pleasant rec ollections of all who come in contact with any member of the splendid company, and it will he a merited compliment to behold the whole o Augusta and vicinity under the capa cious water-proof paviliens the day of exhibition here. Put us down lor two visits on that occasion. DooUt nfMru T.Tl "Wynn. On Sunday evening last the. angel ‘Georgla,1ook pul|hr the of death e'ante and claimed thisloVe* the 17th Inst.' Tim sighs now are that CapU Rucker will have a “walk over ” . ly wife and mother. A few weeks ago she was the life and comfort of her household —her heart’s desire be ing the happiness of her husband and children. While engaged in her peaceful domestic- affairs, at a time when no one dreamed of danger she received injury by the overturning of a wardrobe upon her which caused her death. Anxious, sympathetic relatives and friends watched and nur.ed her in hei suffering until death stilled her bodily pains. Now, hus band cannot answer the affectionate call of wifi*; there is no sweet response to - the cry of ‘"mama 1».rom the dear children who yet know not their loss, and a happy home is deso late. The remains were followed to the grave yesterday afternoon by a largo concourse of sorrowing friends. Funeral services conducted by Rev. C. W. Lane.
