Work on the lake, dams, ditches
nnd other ground work on tile West
Lake project has been progressing
with such rapidity within the last lew j
days that already a very noticeable
change In the appearance of the place
can bo detected. It is expected that
this part N of the work will be cofft-
plcted within a few weeks, after
which the erection of a handsome
clubhouse and other buildings will be
begun.
A tentative plan for the rlubliouse,
as drawn by City Engineer Barnett,
was submitted to Hie building com
mittee only recently ami its soon as
they have carefully considered it, it
will be submitted to the members
of the club as a whole for final ac
tion. /
Beautiful Clubhouse.
According to the plans, as drawn
up by Captain Barnett, tho clubhouse
Is to be one of the most beautiful in
the entire south. With Its large par
lors and reading rooms, beautiful
drawing-rooms, spacious ballroom and
wide verandas, it will meet every
need that can be imposed upon a
clubhouse.
In addition tn Hie clubhouse, there
are to be a number of other build
ings on the estate in the form of per
golas, summer bouses, etc. The
bath houses and canoe rooms will
also be very attractive additions to
the project.
Membership Grows.

bership of West Lake had Increased
to the number of seventy-five. Only
100 members are to constitute the
dull so It is expected that within a
