Marketing Agreement
For Gum Turpentine
Being Debated Today
JACKSONTILLE, Fla, —(AP)—
A full day of testimony already in
the record, the public hearing of a
proposed marketing agreément for
gum rosin producers was contin
ued Tuesday with the foor open
to anyone opposing any sort of
marketing code for the industry.
Julian Langner of Jacksonville,
favoring an agreement, and Mill
ard Reese of Bnmswi(-k, Ga., op
posing such an arrangement, each
carried the brunt of the attack for
his respective side at Monday's
opening séssions.
Reese saig the industry was in
comparatively happy shape, far
better than the condition of any
other agricultural ‘industry. He
cliimedt, a marketing agreement
would not accomplish its purpose,
would not be workable, woull
operate to the detriment of some,
and was not in line with provis.
iong of the ' agricultural adjust
ment act.
