by city policemen on charges of
drunk and reckless driving,

A young man arrested late yes
terday afternoon on g 5 warrant
sworn out by Dr., 8. C. Moon, on |
charges ¢ passing bad checks, wus,
turned over to Clarke county offi
cers this morning.
The youth, who's name, office=
said, is Harold Tyner, admitted
passing the checks, all less than
$lO. Captain Claude Craft, whe
arrested him, said Tyner had a
list of names of prominent Uni
versity of Georgia students who
owed him money. Tyner told Cap
tain Craft he gave the checks “so
he could get by” until some of the
money was paid him.
Tyner had a registration card at
the University of Georgia, and
gave his address as Macon. He
attended Georgia last year but did
not return this year.
When arrested, Tyner was reg
istered at 4 local hotel under the
name of Walter Herrin,
